Excellence in Education

The Alumni Association at the University of Notre Dame holds an annual Excellence in Education Conference and they recognize outstanding teachers.  I received an Excellence in Teaching Award for my work in the classroom as The Chess Lady.  While some teachers think they have big classes with 28 or 30 kids, I have about 50,000 kids!   I am so proud of my First Move students and how smart they are and that they take on challenges!  I am very lucky to be in so many classrooms with so many great kids every week.
