Microsoft Chess Festival

What a great weekend!  I attended a Chess Festival that was part of the Microsoft Giving Campaign on Saturday.  It was a full day of chess activities starting with a blitz tournament.  After that, Women’s Grandmaster Katerina Rohonyon played two people at the same time while she was blindfolded; and she beat them both.  FIDE Master Marcel Milat held chess lectures teaching participants about killer openings.  We finished the day with US Chess Champion and International Grandmaster Hikaru Nakamura playing a simul against 32 people at one time.  It was a great event and raised money to support the First Move program.  I am already looking forward to next year!
