Wedgwood Elementary Students look forward to chess every week. We have a mix of kids who are new to chess and those that are part of chess club and all of the kids do a great job of staying engaged in this program. I haven’t really heard much from parents. First Moves has improved our third grade community. Our third grade team mixes our classes for chess. It’s a great way for the kids to get to know each other better and for the teachers to get to know the kids in the other classes. Also, I now allow chess as a choice when student finish their math work.
