The Queen moves to the g6 square and puts the King into checkmate. The King cannot capture the Queen because the pawn on h5 protects her. Qd3 – g6 #
Move the g2 pawn to g3, once this happens, black must make a move. There are limited moves that black can make, and any move will result in a loss. If black moves e6-e5, the white pawn on f4 captures the black pawn now on e5 and creates a passed pawn. A passes pawn is a pawn that is beyond capture from any of his opponent’s pawns. After this white simply keeps moving the passed pawn forward and creating the win. |
